​A warm hello.

I’ve been meditating recently on James Doty’s beautiful Alphabet for the Heart (from his book, Into The Magic Shop). It is a lovely philosophy to live by. Here it is, with my own extremely brief
summary of what each quality means to me. (James Doty’s insightful and much fuller explanation is worth reading.)

C – COMPASSION. Recognising that someone or an animal is suffering and wanting to ease their hurt.

D – DIGNITY. Acknowledging and respecting each other’s individuality.

E – EQUANIMITY. Leads to “clarity of mind and intention”.

F – FORGIVENESS. A gift for others and yourself.

G – GRATITUDE. Recognising and appreciating our blessings.

H – HUMILITY. Connecting with others as equals. “Frees us to open our hearts and care
unconditionally.”

I – INTEGRITY. Living by our highest and true values.

J – JUSTICE. Doing the right thing by others and protecting the weak, vulnerable and poor.

K – KINDNESS. Compassion in action.

L – LOVE. Given freely, love heals and changes everyone and everything for the better.
