Let’s talk about a big planetary feature that’s getting plenty of attention at the moment:
The visible planets - Venus and Saturn in Pisces, Jupiter in Gemini and Mars in Cancer - are all above the horizon and bright lights in the night sky, the outer planets Uranus in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces are there as well but you need a telescope to see them clearly.
The planets are not in an actual alignment - one behind-the-other in their orbits; they are strung out across the sky along the path of the ecliptic. All of them, being above the horizon at the same time in January, which is rare, is why it’s getting plenty of attention.
Wishing you joy,
Karen
